SO SAD Tuesday night Peggy Bishop passed away. Not expecting many of you to recognize the name. She was the wife of John Bishop one of the founders of IMSA the governing body that brought real professional sports car racing to the US. Most in the general racing community woudl not know the name. But it should have been known by anyone who take part in the sport of sports car racing and the news of her passing should be known almost immediately on sport cars racing board. I did not hear about the news till Wednesday afternoon. Went to a sports car board i frequent this morning and there is absolutely no mention of her passing some 36 hours after her passing. We are talking about a dozen or so people who love to boast about how INFORMED they are and how the have the latest INSIDE information. More or less the Mother of professional sports car racing in the US and her death goes almost entirely unreported in sports car forums.
