SO THE PUBLIC MAY KNOW: Due to insistent demand from certain quarters, Mayor Ryan Paolo V. Mencias has ordered the suspension of the proposed morgue project in barangay San Juan until all requirements in relation to its construction have all been fully met. The mayor also directed the conduct of public consultations by the Sangguniang Bayan and information disseminations by the municipal information officer to ensure that the people of Alcala, especially those who will be affected by the project, are involved and informed about it. (Photo 1 and Photo 2) Former Councilor Danny Cabanayan, Senior Administrative V, stands in the center of the proposed morgue project site (with an area of 211 square meters, more or less). He points to the northwest and southwest which clearly show how far the site is from residential areas. There are several houses in the northeastern and southeastern parts, which are 100 meters away, more or less, from the site, according to Municipal Engineer Alexander G. Lazaga.
