SO WHAT BECAME OF THE BANANA BULLETIN BOARD IDEA? Banana Heads ... I made this forum available to you all to post pertinent bulletins of upcoming community events and activities and, to date, I dont believe but a few folk have taken advantage of this offer ... You KNOW Im NOT talking about Want-Ads, Garage Sales, and the like. We made the forum open to having non-profits, fund-raisers, public service events, and certain activities and happenings conducted by legitimate organizations and private groups that fall into the proper categories. We dons sell Uncle Harrys old Edsel, or Aunt Bees cookies, or juniors used bike here. There is another site for that kind of thing. But ... we are more than open to having SPECIAL items of interest that occur WITHIN WASHINGTON COUNTY that would benefit individuals, families, groups, organizations, and such but NOT in a commercial way. Strictly in the public service realm designed to help others, NOT create an online flea market. So ... I say again ... IF you fall within the criteria of our relaxed policy which will help others, you may post announcements (VERY SHORT) of what is happening each month in Washington County ONLY. When you think of our Banana Bulletin Board think in this vein: non-profit ... legitimate fund-raiser ... educational activities ... cultural endeavors ... community meetings ... special events ... someone in bad shape and needing prayer or financial assistance ... All of these would meet the requirement for posting on the Banana Bulletin Board ... We even allow for the announcement of dances and/or musical events, as we firmly believe that community dances and music are excellent forms of local culture and should be promoted and encouraged to help keep the spirit of the rural areas alive and thriving. Some other things allowed would include Happy Birthday and/or Anniversary Announcements of BANANA HEADS ONLY (or, their immediate family) ... Total length of ANY announcement of any kind should be about one-third the length of this item you see posted in front of you. Any longer and it will be ZAPPED! ... You are also responsible for deleting the item IMMEDIATELY after its specified date of happening. We will let one time ride. However, if you abuse the privilege we will be forced to ZAP anything you post on the Banana Bulletin Board in the future. Help us keep the announcements current and remove them when the situation referred to in the announcement is done! As a matter of fact, we are waiting for Rob Moorman to post something as to when his latest musical gig is ... And, what of YOU, Banana Head --- do you have something that qualifies? Do you know of an event or cause that can be announced here at The Brenham Banana-Press? We can only make the forum available to you all ---- We cant conjure up the information from thin air. That is your opportunity, folk. If you want to use this forum for that purpose --- have at it. If we feel that the Banana Bulletin Board becomes abuse and misused, we will reconsider our decision. Until then, we are making this available to help the local Washington County community as best we can ....
