SO many of you that follow us have spent hours on the phone while we talked you through animal care. Many of you have had me deliver animals to you ( up to 600 miles away) to provide the perfect match for a new pet. I do not charge for my time, or the time of our volunteers or transport drivers. We cover all medical costs, gas , food , and furnishings for the animals in our care. We pay the vet bills and water bills and pg & e bills. We do not charge surrender fees no matter how bad the condition of the animal. We turn no one away and give free counseling no matter how long it takes. The only thing we ask is a commitment fee when placing an animal in a new home. After we inspect the home, we require an adoption fee that is $25 for standards, and $50 for higher maintenance animals such as Iguanas, Sulcatas, Monitors, and Boas. These are fees we have worked out through animal control and the SPCA. This does not even begin to cover the cost of the care we have spent and the time we have dedicated to providing the best possible outcome for these animals. This simply shows us that you have put thought into it and are not trying it out on a whim. Please do not ask us for free animals. If macys offered free clothing we would try things we were unsure of and discard it if we changed our minds. We can not do this with animals. I was accused of simply being a "middleman" tonight! A person who wanted free animals spent a good deal of time bad mouthing us because we charge fees. I am sorry if you do not agree with our process. It is thorough, expensive for us, and time consuming. It assures the best care and future possible for all animals. I ask those of you whom we have helped out ( as there has been many of you this week ;) ) to please post your feedback and let people know how much we are giving to this community! Thank you all for your support!!
