SOBERING LESSONS FROM PROVERBS CHAPTER ONE ! “ NUTSHELL WISDOM “ PLEASE UNDERSTAND , THAT THESE PRINCIPLES ARE JUST AS TRUE FOR BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS , AS THEY ARE FOR UNBELIEVERS ! GOD , IS NO “ RESPECTER OF PERSONS “ HE TREATS ALL , WITH FAIRNESS & TRUTH . Scriptural words CAPITOLIZED , for added EMPHASIS ! JIM’S “ NUTSHELL “ Testimony - In 1985 , ( after hearing Rev , Sherman Owens , ) GOD started speaking to me , like you wouldn’t Believe ! Now , GOD’S Bible Myth Buster , desires this same EXPERIENCE , for ALL PEOPLE ! FROM PROVERBS CHAPTER 1 ( Verse 20 ) WISDOM cries aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the markets; (( Scripturally based Wisdom , is available to all who sincerely desire it . Praise God ! )) ( verse 21 ) She cries at the head of the noisy intersections [in the chief gathering places]; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: ( Verse 22 ) How long, O SIMPLE ones [open to evil], will you LOVE being simple? And the SCOFFERS delight in scoffing and (self-confident ) FOOLS hate knowledge? (( Notice that GODLY WISDOM , starts out with a REBUKE of 3 types of people , the Simple , the Scoffers , and the SELF Confident , these people , are all Foolish ! Or , maybe this is referring to one person , with 3 awful traits ! Everyone LOVES a Critic , right ? LOL ! )) (( instructions to Christians & Non Christians ! )) (Verse 22 ) - If you will turn (repent) and give heed to my reproof, behold, I ( Wisdom ) will pour out my SPIRIT upon you, I will make my words known to you. (( GOD , goes IMMEDIATELY from stating the Problem , to giving the Answer , to the Problem ! The answer is for the “ Simple “ ( all who are HUMBLE ENOUGH , to admit to a need of a lot more WISDOM , - Turn , repent , and give heed to Godly reproof ! Note that Godly Wisdom , is a SPIRIT , ( the Holy Spirit , of “ Wisdom and Revelation “ ! ( Eph 1 vs 17 ) Note - That in Eph 1 vs 17 Wisdom come First , then , ( after you find out how to get true WISDOM , ) you’ll correctly understand God’s REVELATION , of the Words in the Bible ! P S - GOD here , is talking about Scripturally based Wisdom , because , if your “ wisdom “ is not solidly Scripturally based , it is NOT Godly Wisdom , at all ! )) ( Verse 24 ) Because I have called and you have refused [to answer], (( I , Godly Wisdom , )) have stretched out my hand and NO MAN (( NO one , among the unwise , about Scriptural Life Changing Truths )) NO MAN has heeded it, “ ( Exclamation Point ! ) (( Notice the BLANKET STATEMENT God makes here , NO ONE ( among the unwise ) Listens to GOD , and Changes ! )) NOTE - Keep YOUR “ blanket Statements “ , to only what can be Proven , with rightly divided Scripture ! )) ( Verse 25 ) And you treated as nothing all my counsel , and would accept none of my (( Scripturally based )) reproof, (( The SELF CONFIDENT , in their own goodness and abilities ) refuse to ACCEPT God’s Wisdom to get out of Troubles !! )) ( verse 26 ) I (( Godly Wisdom )) also will laugh at your CALAMITY (( the problems that come upon you , )) I will mock when the thing comes that shall cause you TERROR and panic ! (( This is the unfortunate end result , of all who CONTINUE to Reject Godly Wisdom Instruction , until it’s too late ! “ Satan , comes to STEAL , KILL , AND DESTROY , “ Literally ! This is not GOD , laughing at people’s problems that are threatening to KILL them . This is Godly Wisdom ( like an abused woman , who ” mocks “ a man , when the Police take him off to Jail . ) GODLY WISDOM , takes TIME to accumulate , it just doesn’t come on a person “ all at once “ . So , when Unwise people put off gaining Godly Wisdom , they often run out of Time , & the Calamity strikes ! ( Verse 27 ) When your PANIC , comes as a storm and desolation , and your calamity comes on as a WHIRLWIND , when distress and anguish come upon you. (( When we see these descriptive words of God , we KNOW , that they are not “ figuratively speaking “ , they are Literal ! )) ( Verse 28 ) Then will they call upon me (( Godly )) Wisdom ) but I will NOT answer; they will seek me early and diligently , but they will NOT find me ! (( Why ALL those who put off Diligently seeking after Scripturally based Wisdom , will NOT find it , see Verse 29 ! )) ( Verse 29 ) Because they HATED knowledge and did not choose the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord, (( If we Hate Scripturally based Knowledge , & favor a Worldly Philosophy , or , we favor “ Religious “ Traditions , we did NOT Choose the true Fear ( Reverence ) of the Lord ! )) ( Verse 30 ) (( YOU , Oh simple one )) Would accept none of my counsel, and despised all my reproof, (( ALL , who hate Scripturally sound Council , & Godly Reproof , will “ reap , what they have sowed ! )) ( Verse 31 ) Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way , and be satiated with their own devices. (( They have followed the “ way , that seemed right to them , but it is the way of Death ! “ ( Verse 32 ) For the backsliding of the simple shall slay them, and the careless ease of ( self-confident ) fools shall destroy them. (( The apparent success of “ Casual Christianity “ will Deceive people ! )) ( Verse 33 ) But whoso hearkens to me (( Scripturally based WISDOM )) shall dwell securely and in confident trust , and shall be quiet, without fear or dread of evil ! ” (( Anyone who is a true Believer , & actually DOES God’s Commands , will be BLESSED , & have no reason to Fear Calamity ! )) ( Footnotes: ) a. Proverbs 1:2 Over the doors of the school of Plato these words were written in Greek, “Let no one enter who is not a geometrician.” But Solomon opens wide the doors of his proverbs with a special message of welcome to the unlearned, - the simple, the foolish, the young, and even to the wise—that all “will hear and increase in learning” (Prov. 1:5). Proverbs 1:2 A key term in the book of Proverbs, “Wisdom” is capitalized throughout, as God’s design for living and as a reminder of Christ, - Whom the apostle Paul calls “the wisdom of God... in Whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (I Cor. 1:24; Col. 2:3 KJV). Proverbs 1:20 Wisdom here is personified. Read “the Wisdom of God” instead of “Wisdom” and see the wonderful power of this book ! AMEN !
