SOC A hot-tempered one commits many sins… Proverbs 29:22-27 (NIV) 22 An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins. 23 A mans pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor. 24 The accomplice of a thief is his own enemy; he is put under oath and dare not testify. 25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe. 26 Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the LORD that man gets justice. 27 The righteous detest the dishonest; the wicked detest the upright. Father Thank You for Your multifold testimony given in Your wise sayings throughout Proverbs and Your word, I pray they may serve us as we seek to serve those to whom You bring us in accordance with Your “good and perfect” will. This section is named: Of anger, pride, thievery, cowardice and corruption and is named well. It certainly addresses our most worrisome aspects of doing life with others and being a benefit instead of a scourge on our community and society. All the Proverbs verses we have looked at recently are a multifold testimony of moral virtues or the lack thereof, we are harkened to seek to be the moral person in and through our walk with God and with Christ through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As Verse 18 of this Proverb says: “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 2 Ptr 1:5 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4:8-9 15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:15-16 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 Lord thank You for giving us Your Spirit to lead us in Your word so that we may live the lives of morality and virtue that You desire for us through You. By daily choosing to follow You, by denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and by walking in the way with You, we are able to grow in our relationship with You and put on Your morality and virtues. I pray you are marveling at God’s desire for you and seeking to daily grow in His morality and virtues.
