🏁🏁SOLID START FOR WOFFY🏁🏁 BATTERED and bruised Brit Tai Woffinden got his World title defence off to a solid start in the New Zealand Grand Prix in Auckland this morning. Having suffered three heavy crashes in Wolverhamptons clash with Leicester last weekend, the determined Woffinden arrived Down Under nursing ligament damage in his left foot and a back problem. When he was left trailing at the back in his opening ride, the Monmore Greem favourite looked set to be in for a long night. However, the gutsy 23 year old battled through the pain barrier to kick-off his World Championship campaign with a solid seven point haul despite narrowly missing out on a semi-final appearance on countback. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton asset Fredrik Lindgren ensured his season got off to the perfect start as he made a well-deserved Grand Final appearance at Western Springs. The popular Swede - who gives British racing a miss in 2014 - notched 13 points with a classy display despite narrowly missing out on a rostrum spot as German Martin Smolinski claimed an unlikely victory.
