SOMALIA: Somalia is the most corrupt state in the world, Transparency International says Somalia is the most corrupt state in the world, Transparency International said in its new report in 2013. according to the latest report compiled by the Berlin-based corruption watchdog Transparency International, the Corruption Perceptions Index 2013 serves as a reminder that the abuse of power, secret dealings and bribery continue to ravage societies around the world. The Index scores 177 countries and territories on a scale from 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean). No country has a perfect score, and two-thirds of countries score below 50. Somalia, Afghanistan and North Korea each scored just eight points out of 100 in Transparency International’s 2013 Corruption Perceptions Index, where a score of 100 corresponds to a total lack of corruption. The new report came just a day after the Federal Parliament of Somalia voted to oust the Somali government following impeachment motion against the government over allegations of low performance and favoritism.
