Learn about the sweeping, chandelier-clad, walnut wood-trimmed interiors of the Mission Revival style train station at the new exhibition at the Central Library. The iconic institution opened in 1939 serving as the primary gateway to Southern California for decades. The Los Angeles Conservancy says the facility has been effectively unaltered. The exhibition also investigates the controversy that trailed the nearly 30 years it took to plan and construct the station, featuring architectural drawings, sketches and never-before-seen archival photographs. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours.
