SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT by Pastor Robert Hill The First World - TopicsExpress

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT by Pastor Robert Hill The First World War was fought as a “War to end all wars.” That didn’t work. The Second World War was fought to “Make the world safe for democracy.” Instead it helped advance the tyranny of communism. Naively, wars are still being fought to replace dictatorships with democracies. These dictators are much like the evil spirits of which Jesus spoke. If the “house” remains empty when they are cast out they “take with them seven other spirits more wicked than themselves...and the last state of that man is worse than the first” (Matthew 12:45). Consider Egypt, Libya, Syria, and it will be so with Iraq and Afghanistan. Sinful humanity is such, that unless moved by the Holy Spirit through the knowledge of Jesus Christ, they must be moved to do what is good and right by force. The love of Christ moves people to love their neighbor. The farther this nation drifts from Christianity the more it will have to become a “police state” to keep order. Christ remains the hope for the world. Not democracy! Let repentance and faith in Christ begin with you. Come to St. John Lutheran Church. Sunday service time is 8:00 a.m.
