¥¥¥ SONIDOS DEL PERÚ ¥¥¥ oi Piruw filmes do dia: a collection of 3 films on very popular peñas from Lima Penas are traditionall places for musica criolla from Lima, born at the beginning of the 20th century Urban music mixing various influences, comparable to a Tango venue in Buenos Aires or a Fado place in Lisbon Enter the hidden Catedral del Criollismo, the classic Centro Cultural Brena, and the community of El Tigre ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ 5¥ LA CATEDRAL DEL CRIOLLISMO https://vimeo/92496788 https://petitesplanetes.bandcamp/album/sonidos-del-per-la-catedral-del-criollismo mixcloud/vincentmoon/moon-mix-lima-2014-catedral-del-criollismo/ •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Fred said it was not a place for everyone, more of an exclusive club of purists, dedicated to the musica criolla of Lima. That we could go there only accompanied, and not by a woman - strictly forbidden there. The named itself was already giving a hint on the sacred - The Cathedral of Criollismo. Its every friday afternoon that gathers old friend and their sons at Wendor Salgados home. A little apartment on the street, open to the wind, bottles of pisco in the hands, three hours of music and stories. A community, in the popular district of Breña, where lives the ancient soul of Lima. A short film as a portrait of the greatest musical secret of Lima. ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ 21¥ CENTRO CULTURAL BREÑA https://vimeo/92514850 petitesplanetes.bandcamp/album/centro-cultural-bre-a-sonidos-del-per •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• There was someone wearing a very nice suit. And another one. Then a couple arrived, and more. The neighbourhood of Breña, close to the center of Lima, on a friday night. The only night the Centro Social y Cultural Breña opens its doors. For a night of musica criolla, in what we can call a very classic peña. There is many peñas around Lima, some dealing with tourists and expensive drinks while a very prepared show is unfolding. Some other maintaining a very old flame of popular barrios, of a community of people enjoying playing, singing, dancing their own classics. Heres a little night in deep limeño style. Never ending, in costumes. ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ 31¥ EL TIGRE https://vimeo/101442801 https://petitesplanetes.bandcamp/album/sonidos-del-per-el-tigre •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• The first time I went to the neighbourhood of Bairros Altos, I got mugged. The second time, I went for El Tigre. I discovered the place walking around, an old club it seemed, belonging in the past to Hugo Bass. Someone told me it was open only on sundays, starting at midnight. Amongst the various types of peñas in Lima, you might find some very touristic ones, some more confidential. But El Tigre is something else - a family. Every character in the room seemed to have been picked up with choice - there was the old man sitting with style, the lady dressed half in Armani half in traditional clothes, the gentleman seducing around, the drunk couple. And there was her, the owner. The kindest person, welcoming everybody as she was throwing her annual birthday party. Introducing every new act, as a fabulous master of ceremony, in style. On that night in El Tigre, everybody passing by could feel it - this was Perú at its best, gentle and popular. ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ gracias Lali Houghton Fabiola Sialer Cuevas Pablo Molina Renzo Belón ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ WATCH the entire SONIDOS DEL PERÚ collection vimeo/album/3050162 LISTEN petitesplanetes.bandcamp/ a 33 films and albums collection made by Vincent Moon all around the country, researching on local music from Iquitos to Arequipa, from Pucallpa to Chiclayo, from Huancayo to Lima and more.
