SONSHIP FIRST CALLING SECOND- One of the cornerstones of our redemption and the work of Jesus on earth was to tear down the wall of separation between us and The Father. Our relationship with God needs to flow from a position of righteousness through the completed work of Jesus at the cross. When we accept all that Jesus did we can dwell in the courts of The Lord as His sons and daughters. We are planted in the Kingdom with full access to a mighty inheritance of all that The Father has. So many times we focus primarily on our calling and not our sonship. Our spiritual life becomes a series of ups and downs, highs and lows based upon the progress of our calling. We are happy when our calling seems to be moving forward and sad when it is not. Yet, the most important aspect of our lives is that we have been born into the family of God! What if we drew all of our value and peace from the position of righteousness afforded us by sonship and not calling? Our first and greatest identity is not a spiritual office or gift but our place in the kingdom as sons and daughters who pursue The Father’s heart. Let’s become so rooted and established in sonship that any calling becomes secondary! Gal. 4:7- Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
