SOOO, Angel, our Rose Breasted Cockatoo had Bathtime today! And he LOVES the bath, but NOT the after time process of getting dry again..LOL...he typically looks at me like HOW could you make my PERFECT feathers get ALL out of place and WET...NOW Ill have to do ALL kinds of crazy shakes and HOURS of preening to PERFECT myself again...LOL!!! DESPITE the fact that he LOVES being in the bath tube and having the shower to the point that he almost falls asleep & could stay in the warm water for HOURS if I let him, BUT he forgets ALL that as soon as he is OUT of the water and is APPALLED at the state of his wet self...LMAO!! ANYway, for the FIRST time in 13 years I was actually able to catch on video him doing one of his FULL body crazy shakes :)...And HAD to share...and after the shake he of course went right back to glaring at me in regards to the MESS Id made of his feathers, despite how much he LOVES and ALL parrots NEED Bath time to wash off the powder that collects on their feathers and to help make it easier for them to open the plastic that surrounds NEW feathers that are constantly growing in. PLUS its AMAZING how much BRIGHTER their feathers become AFTER a bath washes away the powder that ESPECIALLY coats Cockatoos Feathers after they have gotten the plastic off NEW feathers because that plastic will then turn into a very light powder coating that stays on each feather. OK, Ill stop my infamous babbling and get to the video :) ENJOY!! Melissa :)
