SORIA rallies men towards PNP transformation Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – July 10, 2013 – The region’s top police official rallied the police commissioned and non-commissioned officers of Police Regional Office 8 (PRO8) to perform their duties and obligation with integrity and commit themselves for an effective and efficient delivery of public service in support to the PNP Patrol Plan 2030. “With the PNP Patrol Plan 2030, the Philippine National Police now has clear sense of direction and with a competent leadership to carry-out its vision towards a highly capable, effective and credible police service,” PCSupt. ELMER RAGADIO SORIA, director of PRO8, said during the opening ceremony of Follow-Up Cascading of Enhanced PNP Patrol Plan 2030 at PRO8 Matapat Hall on Tuesday morning. “The PNP is counting on your continuing commitment and firm resolve in our quest to institutionalize a performance-based public accountability aimed at instilling a transformation culture in the organization,” Soria told the participants composed of provincial and city directors and police chiefs in Eastern Visayas. The Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and Upholding of the Rule-of-Law or PNP Patrol Plan 2030 is the PNP’s roadmap in attaining a highly capable, effective and credible police service by year 2030. The three-day cascading activity is administered by the PNP’s Center for Police Strategy Management, activated on December 15, 2011, the unit responsible for integrating, coordinating and monitoring activities across functions and other offices to ensure alignment of strategies, resources and operations of the transformation plan. PRO8 also activated its Regional Strategy Management Unit on March 21, 2012 to oversee the plan implementation in the regional office down to station level. Soria further directed his men to fully embrace the core messages of the transformation program and to strive to become the best that they could and encourage stakeholders’ support to the successful operations and implementation of various programs the PNP. “By sustaining public information and dialogue and gaining public trust and confidence through positive performance, these would in return sustain partnership and collaboration between the PNP and its stakeholders,” the police official averred. The CODE-P program of PNP chief Police Director General Alan LM. Purisima is incorporated to the Patrol Plan 2030, Soria further informed.
