#SOS, Massar open Child-Friendly Center in #Bab_Sharqi Nov 30, 2013 #Damascus, (#SANA)-Childrens villages Association SOS in Syria and Massar project at the Syria Trust for development on Saturday opened the Child Friend center at Bab Sharqi in Damascus. The center aims at supporting the children who have faced difficult conditions due to the current events in Syria through practicing a number of studied activities stemming from their reality, demands to boost a group of values and social behaviors. It can receive nearly 120 children daily between 6-16 years old. They pass through several stations concentrating on boosting the values, acquiring data through adopting a number of interactive ways like reciting a story, playing music, reading and drawing. The center focuses on psychological support that is based on calculated three steps devised by psychological experts, with the aim to help children and build their capabilities. Official of Children Protection at the Childrens Villages (SOS), Jinan Ramadan stressed the importance of cooperation with Massar project to establish children-friendly centers that ensures a creative environment for children. The center is a prelude to establishing other centers in the provinces to help the largest possible number of children. SOS Funding and Public Relations official, Salma Haqqi said that the center seeks to enhance childrens self-confidence, hone their skills and tap into their energies through a variety of activities, such as painting, music and theater. Nour Sbeiei, a volunteer, said that children are in need for support under the current circumstances, pointing out that the center provides interactive activities so as to enable children to get back their self-confidence. sana.sy/eng/386/2013/11/30/515198.htm
