SOUTH WEST TUMBLING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014 Last weekend 20 of our competition squad competed at the South West tumbling championships and all had a fantastic day, doing the club very proud. Lily Curtis earned herself a bronze medal in the womens level 1 age 9-10 with three tidy runs. Alicia Hall also competed in this group scoring very well on runs 1 and 3 but having an unlucky 2nd run. 5 of our gymnasts competed in the large group that was womens level 2 age 9-10 group and all did incredibly well. Lara Harding came away with a well earned silver medal! Molly Johansen came in 5th, Ezmie Skeen was 7th, Eloise Wright 10th and Freya Stubbs 12th. Charlie Ramnial held his own in the mens level 2 9-10 years, earning himself 4th place. Millie Hawkins and Annabelle Wright had an excellent day, both being their first time at a tumbling competition. They competed in the womens level 2 age 11-12 years. Cameron Morrissey also had a fab day earning another bronze medal, this time in the womens level 2 13-14 years. Another two podium places were taken by Rowan Gymnasts in the forms of Jordan Lawrence and James Clapton. They competed in the mens level 2 age 13+ group - James took the silver medal and Jordan the bronze. Moving up to level 3, Archie Thomas competed at this level in the mens 9-10 years group and 3 good runs saw him earn a silver medal. Brogan Mitchinson was crowned South West champion of the womens level 3 age 11-12 group - winning by over 3 marks! In the womens level 3 15+ group Rowan took first and second! Amelia Stanimeros took the gold medal and Emily Farnworth and Madilyn Hunt came away with a joint second place granting them both with a silver medal. Eddie Parker competed in the mens level 3 age 13+ and a fabulous performance saw him take the gold medal! Katie Castle competed in the womens level 4 age 11-12 group and earned third place. Adding another medal to the tally for Rowan! Well done to everyone that competed!
