SPD NEWS - SHELLEY COURT HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE On August 31, 2014, at 8:23 pm, Officers responded to a report of a person shot inside the apartment complex in the 4500 block of Shelley Court. When Officers arrived, they located a 44 year old man who had been shot. The man was transported to the hospital where he died. Investigators have learned that a man, who attempted to kidnap a 4 year old boy, ran to the 44 year old mans apartment. Several people came to the apartment and caused a disturbance. While the victim was trying to calm the situation, he was approached by two Hispanic males in their early twenties. One of the Hispanic males then shot the 44 year old man. The attempted kidnapper is described as a black male, in his late 30’s to early 40’s, with light complexion and freckles. The Stockton Police Department is encouraging citizens to call if they have information pertaining to this investigation. Callers are asked to call the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377, the Investigations Unit at (209) 937-8323, or Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600. Callers can remain anonymous.
