SPEAKING WORDS THAT BUILD UP The prophets of old spoke as if God - TopicsExpress

SPEAKING WORDS THAT BUILD UP The prophets of old spoke as if God was the One speaking through them and their prophecies became signs. Each sign said, “These men are from God, their message is true, believe them”. What do your words say about you? In Acts 1:8, when Jesus Christ sent out His apostles to preach the Good News, He also poured out His Holy Spirit upon them to enable them to speak with tongues the wonderful works of God. They confessed Christ before the world. They confessed the fullness of His grace. They confessed the integrity of the revelation. It is time for a tongue evaluation. If you say you have received the Holy Spirit, of what value is He to you? For when the Spirit of Christ immerses into your spirit, His power will take control of your actions, thoughts and utterances. Wait! Pause a minute and think about what your usual conversations have been like. Do your words build others up or pull them down? Above all, do your words glorify God? Our Lord, Jesus Christ has warned us against speaking idle words – words that do not edify or build others up because for every idle word a man speaks, he shall be accountable. Vain and idle talk is a product of a vain and idle heart - they are not pleasing to God and unprofitable. But every word of a real Christian is invested with power – power to heal, power to bless, power to save, power to deliver, power to redeem. Children of God, I am telling you the truth, it is God that enables His children to speak words that build up. His Holy Spirit enters into our lives at every point to put an end to our past life of sin, of lying, of deceit, of hatred, of blasphemy, of destruction. The Holy Spirit enters your life and you become a new person with a renewed mind, affection, desire and will. The Holy Spirit enters our heart and gives birth to a new way of thinking, a new way of living and a new way of speaking. The Holy Spirit helps us to put off our former conversations so that we may speak forth only what God says.
