SPECIAL BROADCAST BY H.E. SENATOR IBIKUNLE AMOSUN FCA CON Today, Sunday, November 9th, 2014. 1. I thank the good people of Ogun State for responding positively and enthusiastically to our call for them to come out and participate in the Distribution of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). 2. We however noted and observed the various challenges encountered across the state since the beginning of the exercise. 3. We have raised these issues with INEC and stressed the need for extension of time for the exercise, so that the commission will be able to correct the anomalies and ensure that our people are in a position to exercise their constitutional / civic rights. 4. INEC has acceded to our request. They have extended the Distribution of Permanent Voters’ Card exercise by one day. This means the exercise will now end tomorrow, Monday, 10 November, 2014. 5. I therefore appeal to all the residents of Ogun State to utilize the opportunity provided by the extra day granted by INEC. We should all go to our respective polling units to collect our PVCs. The commission has assured that many more cards are now available for collection. 6. INEC has also assured us that those whose names are on the register but whose cards are not available now will be able to collect at a later date, from INEC offices in the 20 Local Government Areas. 7. For those whose names are not on the displayed voters’ register and those who could not register in the last registration exercise, INEC has assured that the Continuous Voters’ Registration (CVR) exercise will take place between Wednesday 12 November and Monday 17, November 2014 and will provide opportunity for them to register and obtain their voters’ cards before the election. 8. My dear good people of Ogun State, let me stress, for the umpteenth time, the significance of obtaining your Permanent Voters’ Cards as it is only when you have your voter’s card that you can vote in the forth-coming elections. 9. Once again, I thank you all for your patience and understanding, while I enjoin the good people of Ogun State to go and collect your permanent voters’ cards. 10. I thank you all. May God bless Ogun State.
