SPECIAL EVENTS INDUSTRY/EVENT PROFESSIONALS- is it just me, or are all of you a bit tired of hearing about the fact that Super Bowl could be affected by bad/severe weather (DUGH!)...could be played...maybe Friday, maybe Saturday...maybe the Monday following! First and foremost, WAS THERE NOT A PLAN ESTABLISHED IN ADVANCE (begs the question as professionals we all had last year- was there no plan for a possible power outage in New Orleans during the last Super Bowl?). This lack of a real plan could affect corporate sponsors, venues, event suppliers, transportation companies, hotels and most importantly the fans who support you all year long. This lack of planning to me seems to be yet another case of the NFL playing GAWD, and they will make and determine the changes that are in THEIR best interest only! As Event Professionals ANYTIME- Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall we are doing an event (indoors or outdoors we have a pre-established Severe Weather Plan (especially when the decision to hold an outdoor event is during a time of year when Mother Nature could decide to rear her head...i.e. Super Bowl in February in New York/New Jersey !H-E-L-L-O!). As Event Professionals we have studied alternative venues, transportation plans, media plans, communication plans, medical emergency plans and MORE! May I suggest for future Super Bowl games that the NFL/Super Bowl Committee stick to running the game of football and HIRE! a TEAM OF EVENT PROFESSIONALS to show you how we properly and PROFESSIONALLY play the Game of Events! #noonelikesfrozenbeer
