SPECIAL SUNDAY SERMON: 14-07-2014 Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda; Lusaka, Zambia Title: DO MY PROPHETS NO HARM 1 Chronicles 16:22 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. Psalm 105:15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm Jeremiah 7:25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: God raise up prophets to be his mouth piece and he expected the people who had been given this privilege of having them to treat them with all the care they deserved. Prophets got God’s message and presented it without changing it no matter its contents. It was through the prophet’s words that people were warned, rebuked and corrected. The world of today needs the ministry of prophets more than ever before. May the Lord find you and me as candidates of that percuiliar office in Jesus Name. THE PROBLEM OF THE PRESENT DAY CHURCH! 1 Kings 22:5-6 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day. 6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. All these four hundred prophets lied because they were the king’s prophets. This predicament the church has found itself in today is to have people’s prophets instead of God’s prophets. The preachers of today are full of sermons of blessings and not of warnings. Holiness is a word that is like a submarine which appears once in a while on the sea. They will pray and fast for you to be rid of sickness and poverty whilst you are swimming in fornication. They will go to every length to keep you in the church but not in the Lord. To show you how serious this is, you who is reading this message was in church today and despite you living with a man who is not your husband and sleeping on the same bed every day, you are so happy with the message that was preached today at the church. You are back in the same house preparing for tonight. Can you imagine a fornicator being so happy after the service and going back to the house of fornication. How can a prophet of God make you happy whilst you are swimming in sin? My drunkard friend count how many “Amen” you shouted at church today and yet you know how many beers you bought yesterday that you left in fridge to drink whilst watching the world cup final. I am not condemning you but showing the fact that today we do not have prophets who will preach to reach your soul but they can succeed to reach your pockets. I am glad you have read this message and God wants you to amend your ways. I am fully aware that tis kind of preaching will not make me popular but I care for nothing but the glory of God. My pastor friends God wants us to arise and proclaim the truth that will prepare people for eternity. May God help the church in Jesus Name. PROPHETS OF GOD ARE HATED BY THOSE WHO WISH TO CONTINUE IN THEIR EVIL WAYS! 1 Kings 22:8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the Lord: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said; Let not the king say so. 1 Kings 22:13-16 And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good. 14 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak. 15 So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. 16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD? POSSIBILITY OF HARMING GOD’S PROPHETS! *Aaron and Miriam harmed Moses! Numbers 12:1 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. What they spoke about was true but they did not have the right to do do so because when God called Moses, he was aware of the marriage of Moses. Actually Aaron and Miriam wanted to discipline Moses or to remove him from being a leader because of that problem. My friend who gave you the right and power to correct God. It does not matter who you my friend God has not anointed you to harm his servants. God knows how to correct the mistakes of those who he calls. One servant of God who is harmed may affect the whole congregation. Watch you language and no matter what evidence you may have give God the chance to do his work. *King Saul hunted for David and this led to his death! 1 Samuel 18:7-9 And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. 8 And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom? 9 And Saul eyed David from that day and forward. Be careful not to hate nor harm God’s servants as this may lead to your untimely death. God does not lightly people who do such. Saul learnt the hard way. David had done so much for him and the kingdom and to receive the kind of treatment he was given was uncalled for. God will defend a David to any length. *Joseph’s brothers hated and harmed their brother and this brought untold suffering on the whole nation of Israel. Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Did you realize that hatred for Joseph took by his brothers took the whole nation into Egypt and it was hatred by Pharoah that brought them out. Never ever hate nor harm God’s servants as you will never run away from the terrible negative consequences no matter how long it may take. Some of the problems people are facing are not because of the devil but their evil deeds against God’s servants. Check up in your life and if the case be so with you, make an effort to apologise or in short make restitution. *Nabal refused to help David and his servants with food and he lost his life! 1 Samuel 25:4-6 And David heard in the wilderness that Nabal did shear his sheep. 5 And David sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men, Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name: 6 And thus shall ye say to him that liveth in prosperity, Peace be both to thee, and peace be to thine house, and peace be unto all that thou hast. David had done so much for the servants of Nabal and for him to be humiliated and insulted was uncalled for. There are people who have been beneficiaries of the kindness of many servants of God who later turn against them and become agents of harm. This is a terrible attitude and we need to refrain from such. Even if you have a cause to be wicked to them refrain as the consequence you will reap will be too much and unbearable 1 Samuel 25:13-15 And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff. 14 But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabals wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he railed on them. 15 But the men were very good unto us, and we were not hurt, neither missed we any thing, as long as we were conversant with them, when we were in the fields: 1 Samuel 25:37 But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone. Nabal lost his life and his wife was eventually taken by David. THIS IS THE LESSON YOU MUST NOT FORGET! Psalm 105:14-16 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; 15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. 16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread. THUS SAITH THE LORD “DO MY PROPHETS NO HARM!”
