SPECIALIST II PAYROLL SERVICES JOB Location: Sacramento, CA GENERAL PURPOSE: Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of hourly associates payroll. Responsible for processing all off-cycle checks and researching returned checks and reissuing timely. Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of local, state,and/or federal pay and termination regulations. Assist with special projects as needed under the supervision of Payroll Supervisor and/or Sr. Payroll Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Process and balance bi-weekly payrolls for all store hourly personnel. • Create manual check requests for termination pay, adjustment pay, or retro pay timely and within any respective state mandates. • Process stop payments and research and reissue returned checks • Develop effective work relationships with the DM Admin and Store Management team to gain their trust and confidence. • Respond to all employee inquiries in a timely and effective manner. • Special projects as assigned • Remain current on existing or new payroll guidelines, processes or any legislation impacting payroll. COMPETENCIES: • Accuracy • PeopleSoft background desirable • Customer Service • Analysis and Judgment • Credibility and Trust • Dependability QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: • Requires 2-4 years of payroll experience • Must be able to maintain highest level of confidentiality for all employee payroll and personnel records • Ability to provide excellent customer service while working with frequent interruptions in a fast paced environment, meeting deadlines and/or mandates and maintain effective communication with all internal and external contacts • Strong organization skills, ability to set priorities • Working knowledge of Word and Excel for Windows • Strong communication skills both verbal and written • Knowledge of PeopleSoft a plus https://rochediagnosticscorporation.hireology/careers?id=21874&ref=indeed#21874
