SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS By Don Grigsby SUNSET MANNA: THEME – “JOY” * A Fresh Motivation from the Grace of God in a Greater Measure of Sufficiency God did not need a rest on the Sabbath day. In Colossians, it was a shadow of the good things to come in Jesus Christ. God created everything by speaking it into existence. Grace has transferred to us the sovereignty to speak the words and promises of God. We are not worthy of this vested power, but Gods word was ordained to be powerful in the mouth of the vessels of grace. Moses is a picture of this whole lesson. The first time the rock was struck by the rod and water came out. God had already spoken the second time that water would come when Moses spoke to the rock. Moses became angry and said, “Must we fetch water for you,” as if it was his ability. We must disengage ourselves from our efforts and speak the word to our rocks today, and the grace that has already spoken will do the work. We will not be excluded but included in the next dimension of the Promised Land. What would have happened if Moses spoke to the rock? What would happen if we would speak to our rocks and stand still and see the work of the Almighty? God is calling his church to the intimate chambers of prayer. If we do not have intimacy with God and delight to come into his presence, we will only go through the motions and it will only be a ritual. When we swing past the doors of our own minds and flesh, we throw ourselves beyond our limited ability and our circumstances into the arms of the One who will carry us away in his Spirit to the delight and embrace of his love that will overwhelm our greatest reservations. It is time for us to be the lover of our Beloved. It is time for us to go through the doors of limited joy into unbounding joy. We have been called past the holy place into the most holy place. There we will see him in the light of all that he is and not of the shadows of what we are not. We will then decide to step beyond ourselves into him and never to return to ourselves again. We will then truly be beside ourselves with our love for him. *We cannot even come into his presence properly without thanksgiving. In his presence is the fullness of joy that displaces all the negative feelings and speeches of others. Those who despise prophecy are shallow and their comments are not worth even considering. It is noteworthy to consider what the Lord said of his servant Who is as blind and as deaf as my messenger…? (Isaiah 42:19) We are the messengers that need to be deaf and blind to the small talk of others.
