My blogs are a part of my continued search and struggle with the nature and character of God in world of religious mess, smoke and mirrors, and often a dog and pony show. Thus I return again and again to certain themes that are daily challenged in my world, where cheap ritualized religion has often replaced the miracle and power of “amazing Grace”. Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? In the beginning God That name who has given us life From nothing everything JEHOVAH, He which is YAHWEH, name above all names HE was, is and will be His name alone JEHOVAH The most high over all the earth Our COVENANT ONE From “to be” comes His name Past, present, and future, He is for evermore! His name is ELOHIM The creator of all things “In the beginning God CREATED Plural is His form Declaring plurality of persons Unity of being, the 3 in one It is He we worship, High above all other Gods His power is awesome God’s name is ELOHIM His office truth declare Glorify His name! It is God who owns us His authority over us ADONAI His name We are His servants This name declares Him master Plural is it’s form calling us all To bow down and worship FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT Paul speaks of the Christ, master We are His, bought by blood Bound by love, our Master Our Master, our Lord is He! EL-SHADDAI is His name God Almighty means the same All glory to that name EL-ELYON is “Most HIGH God EL OLAM is “Everlasting God” EL the Strong One reigns SHADDAI declares “breast of nurture” He is ou r All-Sufficient One, strength EL-SHADDAI is able He alone is the Almighty God who is enough He above all is able! What’s in a name? Let all the earth praise Him For His name is forever It is His glory The chief end of man Know Him, enjoy Him, rejoice We by His names are defined His names are manly No one name can declare His glory He is awesome in all the earth Praise God, from Him blessings flow FATH ER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT!
