***SPOILERS*** While my favorite version of Shadowcat is the one in the X-Men: Evolution cartoon, I have to say that Ellen Page has done an excellent job portraying the one that weve been given in the move universe. Ive seen a few posts of people criticizing Ellens portrayal, specifically her acting during her scenes in Days of Future Past, but i honestly think it was spot on. Picture this, your job is to hold on to the mind of someone else, who is currently fighting for your life in the past. If you lose your hold on that persons mind, youre dead, and so are all of your friends. She held on to Wolverines mind while watching her friends fight to protect them, while she was bleeding out from the wound she acquired, while death was literally knocking on the door to their last line of defense. She COULDNT show emotion, that wouldve caused her to lose her grip on Wolverines mind. She controlled her emotions, even with everything going on around her, that meant not screaming in agony as she slowly died of her injury, letting go and running to the aid of her friends and lover (Iceman) who were being annihilated, and fighting back every tear and ounce of fear that she had. Basically I just give Ellen Page a round of applause, where others give her sh*t.
