SPORTS CLUB LA / EQUINOX: for almost 9 years one of my main employers (I have several) was the Sports Club LA/Miami. Literally a week after I arrived in Miami in 2006 I was being hired by them. How lucky was I? As a personal trainer/exercise and lifestyle coach there was no better place to work for. Ever. The best clients and the best co-workers a person could ever work with were here at the Sports Club LA/Miami. I never felt like work. Every day was..and still is... incredible. Great friends and great great education. So when I got the official news this morning that Equinox has officially taken over the Millenium Partners owned Sports Clubs...well..it was bitter sweet. Sweet because Equinox is a monster company I always liked and RESPECTED and now get to work for them...finally. The bitter is The Sports Club, a place I got so much from and gave so much to, is gone. To my fellow Sports Club LA employees go down load or buy the book Who moved my cheese?. Its all about change. I like change myself. Years ago I told my self I will never put all my eggs in one basket again hence why I train clients in over 10 different places (the several employers approach) So this transition should not be so tough. But its the end of an era. An awesome era. An era where work was getting to workout with your best friends...everyday. Hopefully everybody I work with, from the GM, managers, trainers, therapist to the cleaning crew, stay on board and we get to keep some of this era going just a little bit longer...
