Rs. 1,050 Million SPORTS PROMOTION OF SPORTS ACTIVITIES Tournaments for women & men would be organized at the union council / Tehsil / Districts / Division & provincial levels in about 16 disciplines. Rs. 40 million available in the ADP for which PC-I is being processed. In addition department is planning to organize inter-divisional cricket league for which an estimated amount of Rs. 30 million would be required. JAWAN MARAKAZ CONCEPTUAL FRAME WORK: • Youth Centers /Jawan Marakaz will be established in 25 districts for community driven initiatives. In the first phase centers would be established at 7 divisional HQs. • These Marakaz will be established in the existing government premises like sports complexes, local government institutions etc. • A sum of Rs. 70 million has been allocated for this purpose in the CFY (Rs. 10 million per division). Purpose: • Career counseling of the youth and students. • Holding cultural and recreational activities for the youth. • Promoting ethnic harmony and social cohesion. • Mobilizing youth for voluntary social welfare programs & disaster management. Likely Activities: • Seminars / Workshops • Cultural events • Establishment of teaching and tuition facilities • Youth exchange programs • Training and career counseling • Youth dialogues with political and community leaders • Involving in R&D on youth affairs IMPLEMENTATION MECHANISM • The local indigenous organizations, key activists, youth of the locality shall be taken on board as the members of larger Jawan centers advisory board. • The advisory boards consisting of 10-13 members shall be constituted to be headed by the respective Deputy Commissioner who shall also be the DDO.
