SPOTLIGHT and CALL FOR SUPPORT! At Village Building Convergence 13 and 14, we had inspiring discussions about #institutionalracism, #theschooltoprisonpipeline, #restorativejustice and other life-affirming, proactive tools and techniques for responding to the deep wounds and violence the (in)justice system perpetuates. We also saw our county health department use street painting as a youth violence prevention program. Many of our community members are engaged in powerful social and cultural healing and flipping the problem into the solution. There are countless creative ways to apply permaculture to #recidivism. Often, these issues feel so overwhelmingly large that we are challenged with how to respond to them. But heres a great opportunity to support good work! Check out the work of a local group - S.C.A.F.E. (Second Chances are for Everyone).
