SRCSU to prayer Isaiah 41:1 - Keep silence before me, O isles; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment [cause]. If we read the scriptures that follow todays message we see the Lord is opening their minds to all that He had done, things that they did not see or know. It is after He opens their mind to understand they set things right and firm. We pray because we do not receive even though God has said He has supplied all our needs. We pray because have problems in our lives even though God says He is out protector, our Shepherd. We pray because we get sick even though the Lord says He is our Healer and life comes from Him. Ultimately if we understand prayer is not about getting something from God but it about getting ourselves into a position wherein to receive what God has already given, or provided. In todays message God gives us some simple tips on how to set ourselves to successful prayer – I have put it in the acronym SRCSU. keep Silent be Renewed Come near Speak Understand The Lord is telling us if we just blabber our problems, our needs when we pray our prayer will not be fruitful. We need to know before whim we are coming therefore first need to keep silent. We need to silent our hearts, our thoughts, our anxiety, etc. It is only when we silence ourselves we will be renewed in strength and it is only after we are renewed in strength we will be able to come near Him. It is only after we come near Him we should speak. Imagine we are going to the palace of the King to put forth our grievance; will we start to shout our grievance at the entrance of the palace gate? That is what people do when they pray they start with putting their problems even before they have acknowledged before whom they are putting their problems, even before they have drawn themselves near to Him. When we come to the door of the Kings palace we wait at the door and recheck are we dressed properly, we look well and the way is clear for us. It is only after we walk near to the throne that we will start to put forth our problems, our grievances. Our God is King of Kings. He is not human to make mistakes nor lacks wisdom or foresight. He knows all, is omnipresent and omnipotent. Thus our putting forward our grievance is not for the reason that He sorts them but is more for the reason that we know how He has already sorted it so that we remove the hindrances we had put which stopped us from receiving. About all this there is one thing that the Lord tells us as most important towards our prayer getting answered and that is we need to approach Him as an Island. An island is a small piece of land surrounded by water on all sides. Before we sit to pray we need to first acknowledge that we are nothing; that is why we see scriptures where Men of God have called himself as tiny worm or dust of the earth before God. We need to not just humble ourselves but we need to offload our burden at the gate so that we get the burden sorted out when we are before the King. Remember it will be very difficult to enter the palace gate while holding on to our burdens. Even though our burdens are the purpose of our coming before our King yet we need to disconnect from then before we come to our Kings. This is where praise, worship and thanksgiving comes very handy. When we praise, worship and gives thanksgiving to the Lord it enables us to forget our burdens for that short time and thus helps us enter the gates of the Kings palace. Let us not forget this secret that the Lord has given us everything we sit for prayer. If we want to have successful prayer, prayers that are powerful and effective let us follow these steps and not be foolish of running into blabbering our problems to God. [Prayer Starter] Lord, we praise and worship You for You alone are Almighty God. Lord, You love us and tiem and again have tried to give us precious gems of your Kingdom. We thank You Lord for todays gem on how to pray. Lord, there are many times we start our prayer with just blabbering our problems to You, we forget before whom we come and forget the respect and sanity of the place we enter when we pray. Lord help us remember these steps that You have given us every time we sit to pray... This prayer we make in Jesus Name, Amen, [Reference Scriptures] Isaiah 41:1-7 1 Keep silence before me, O isles; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment. 2 Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow. 3 He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet. 4 Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. 5 The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came. 6 They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. 7 So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.
