The second day of the ongoing Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha featured a superb rhetoric excellence in chaste poetic Telugu by Dr Nori Suryanarayana Murthy Garu in Prasanthi Nilayam today. Dr Nori Suryanarayana Murthy is a popular erudite scholar in Sanskrit and Telugu, hailing from Guntur region of Andhra Pradesh. Speaking on the significance of Devi Navarathri, that denotes victory over evil, victory of The Divine Mother over dauntless demons, Dr Murthy then expounded on the beauty of “Sundara Kanda” of the epic Ramayana. Beautifully elucidating on the Ramayana story involving Anjaneya, Dr Murthy explained the profound significance of the name Anjaneya, - ‘Aa’ means ‘Ananda’, ‘Ja’ means ‘victory’, ‘na’ means great leadership qualities and ‘ya’ means great and spotless fame. Most interestingly, Dr Murthy unfolded the glory latent in the word by describing various events from the epic portraying great qualities contained in the name Anjaneya. In this context, the speaker recollected the popular incident from the life of ‘Bala Sai’, wherein Anjaneya appeared before Bhagawan, stopping His Master from circumbulating him. Dr Murthy’s hour-long speech, with lots of beautiful poetic insertions, rendered melodiously, turned out to be a veritable spiritual feast for the evening’s capacity audience at the Sai Kulwant Hall. Dr Murthy concluded his speech singing the magnificent glory of Sri Sathya Sai and Puttaparthi. Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed next, played on the public address system. Even as bhajans continued, the guest speaker was felicitated. Prasadam was distributed to the entire assembly and Mangala Arathi was offered at 1855 hrs. Earlier, in the evening, the session commenced at 1640 hrs. with invocatory Vedic chanting by the students of Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School.
