SRINAGAR October 26, 2013;-Syed Ali Geelani was elected as Chairman for next three years tenure. In an executive council meeting of All Parties Hurriyat Conference which was today held at Hyderpora and in which all its constituent members and representativesincluding Muslim Conference, Peoples League, Mass Movement, Muslim League, Jammu Kashmir Employees Movement, Democratic Political Movement, Peoples Freedom League and other Hurriyat leaders or representativesparticipated and in an unanimous voice elected Syed Ali Geelani its chairman for next three years. While as Muslim Khawateen Markaz and Social Peace Forum confirmed and approved it on telephone. Spokesman Ayaz Akbar in his statement said that executive members discussed the LOC fighting, statements of Gen secretary national conference Sheikh Nazir Ahmad, Police Chief Mr Ashok Prasad, Martyr of Jammu in 1947 , future strategy of Hurriyat Conference and added that several proposals were also discussed at length .Syed Ali Geelani in his presidential address expressed his serious concern over recent border clashes between India and Pakistan and said that shelling on both sides of borders has badly affected the people and took heavy tool of life and reiterated that unless the Kashmir issue is resolved as per the aspirations of people ,the present situation on borders will not change. Syed Ali Geelani apprehended that the skirmishes on borders may lead to full fledged war between the two countries. Syed Ali Geelani feared that the present situation created on Loc can be a part of a game plan of India and they intend to mislead the international community about the present freedom movement in Jammu and Kashmir and intend to portray it as Pakistan sponsored insurgency. Syed Ali Geelani stressed the implementation of resolution passed on Kashmir and said that Kashmir is not a border related dispute between India and Pakistan instead it is related to 13 million people and need to be resolve through right of self determination. He said that there is no option left for India except to accept the People’s verdict .Executive council termed the statement of Sheik Nazir Ahmad as ridiculous and irrelevant wherein he had stated that Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and National Conference were not a party to instrument of accession with India .Hurriyat Conference spokesman took strong notice of the statement and suggested Sheikh Nazir Ahmad to see page no 296 of Aatesh-e-Chinara biography of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and asked to explain whether it is that Sheikh Abdullah was a lair or Shiekh Nazir is hiding the facts. Sheikh Abdullah has admitted and accepted that even though Pandit Jawahir Lal Nehru and Sardar Patel insisted Gandhi to send troops to Kashmir but he refused and it was me who convinced Mr Gandhi for this and on page no 296 Sheikh Abdullah narrates that since he was in Delhi to look for help from Indian leaders so he discussed the issue with Ghandi Ji and as Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah has in his biography said that he with his meeting with Gandhi Ji submitted that it is not a mere fight for piece of land but rather for those principles that he represents and pleaded that India should not deny its help to people of Kashmir .Sheikh Abdullah says that Gandhi Ji was convinced and accepted his request and approved the troops for Kashmir .Spokesman in his address to Sheikh Nazir Ahmad , said that Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah has admitted that Indian army landed on his request and added now It is meaningless to discuss whether Sheikh Abdullah has signed the accession agreement or not. Spokesman said that now there are no chances to mislead people as the present generation is enough aware about the historical facts than Sheikh Nazir Ahmad .Hurriyat Conference also discussed the statement of police chief Ashoke Prasad wherein he had stated that Syed Ali Geelani has no restrictions and can offer prayers at Hyderpora Mosque .Executive council members observed that Kashmir police is following the theory of Gobles and police is always trying to mislead the people on this issue. Spokesman said that since March 7, this year Syed Ali Geelani has been detained and placed under house arrest and on each Friday additional force is deployed at his residence .It is 19th Friday in a row that Syed Ali Geelani was prevented from offering his Friday prayers and this is being repeated since year 2010.They are not God fearing people, said spokesman and added that at least they should honor their uniform and refrain from such rhetoric that has nothing to do with reality.
