SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER10: Terming repressive measures and restrictions against the Shopian Challo call, unfortunate and unjustified , Syed Ali Shah Geelani strongly criticized Umer Abdullah led administration and said that scores of political workers and leaders were arrested and forces resorted to unjustified nocturnal raids and ransacked residential houses in hook and corner of the state. In a press statement to Sach News, Syed Ali Geelani said that Indian forces are trigger happy and are killing unarmed and innocent youth and the other hand ,authorities do not even allow us to mourn the dead bodies. While flaying administration for their unjustified and unlawful approach, Geelani said that General Secretary Tehreek e Hurriyat Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, spokesman Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif ullah,Dr Gh Mohammad Ganai ,Syed Imtiyaz Hyder and scores other political leaders and youth were arrested .Geelani said that National Conference with power of arrogance has waged war against common masses and political activists. Syed Ali Geelani said that despite all their wishful tactics engaged by Umer Abdullah regime, the facts about the Shopian tragedy came to light and now Omer Abdullah has no option other than to avoid making false assumptions.He called for immediate release of all political leaders and said instead of facing us on political grounds they with their power of arrogance and oppressive measures are trying to compel us to call of our struggle . Geelani in his appeal to people of Kashmir including Doda, Kishtiwar, Poonch, Ramban and Rajori to hold peaceful protest on September 13 after Friday prayers, against Shopian tragedy and with special reference to religious clerics stressed to take lead role against this inhuman act.
