SRINAGAR September 16, 2013:Hurruyat Conference as a show of solidarity with the martyrs and those unarmed innocents killed by Indian forces, will organize protest demonstration on September 18 .Syed Ali Geelani in an appeal to all people has asked to assemble at Hyderpora .Syed Ali Geelani would lead the protest rally towards UNO office Sonwar where a memorandum will be submitted to UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-moun.In a press release issued today, Syed Ali Geelani in his appeal has called a complete shutdown on September 21 and added that it is indispensable to continue our struggle against the forced occupation and display our resentment against the brutal killings of our unarmed and innocent youth. Syed Ali Geelani also called a peaceful protest after Friday prayers on September 20.While condemning the continous curfew and restriction in South Kashmir and arrest of Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Syed Ali Geelani said that people in Shopian, Kulgam and Pulwama towns are facing immense difficulties and acute shortage of essentials and in case of medical emergencies they feel helpless. Monday in a statement Syed Ali Geelani said that the havoc the forces are playing with the life and terrifying common and defenseless people is a bestial method of breaking the will of people and added that now is the time to think over it and take appropriate steps in accordance with the present situation. Syed Ali Geelani while urging to review approach with respect to freedom movement, said that now it is need of the hour to explore new strategies for sustenance of the freedom movement . Syed Ali Geelani while referring to year 2010 mass uprising said that a forced silence was created through terror unleashed by Indian forces and forces resorted to more callous and barbarous approach. Consequently there was no letup in killings after the execution of Mohammad Afzal Guroo, said Syed Ali Geelani and added that Gool and Shopian incidents have proved that for Indian forces the massacre of common Kashmir is lawful. Syed Ali Geelani while laying stress that rethinking of new initiatives with respect to the freedom movement are indispensable and added that we should think about to create potential strategies which are feasible, applicable and acceptable to common people and that should shake the conscience of the international community and the Indian authorities are made accountable for their misdeeds in Kashmir. Syed Ali Geelani urged people to raise their voice against the barbarism and growing ferocity and added that it is as obligatory like that of prayers. Reiterating for strike call on September 21 and protest demonstration after Friday prayers, Syed Ali Geelani announced that he will lead a protest rally from Hyderpora to UNO office Sonwar on September 18 and a memorandum will be submitted to UN Secretary General Mr Ban Ki-Moon. Castigating state authorities, and terming the continous curfew restriction a worst act of state terrorism, Syed Ali Geelani said due to non-availabilit y of food items and medicines, people are very worried and disturbed and it has made their life miserable. Criticizing authorities, Syed Ali Geelani said that administration does not care about the people and people are virtually in prison and even cannot share their grief or express sympathy with those afflicted families. Syed Ali Geelani urged people of the adjoining villages to come to rescue of their brethren and provide food items. Syed Ali Geelani reiterated his demand for forces withdrawal and said as long as forces are there the tragedies similar to Shopian, will continue to occure.Syed Ali Geelani said that India since last 66 years attempted to change the thinking of the people but failed and added instead, the new generation has emerged as most valiant and enlightened and are committed to the sacred cause. Syed Ali Geelani said India after exhausting and practicing it’s all steps has turned furious and resorted to barbarous approach and has given free hand to its forces.........VNS
