ST. GILES Saint Giles is the patron of lepers, hermits, - TopicsExpress

ST. GILES Saint Giles is the patron of lepers, hermits, beggars, cripples, rams, and woods. He was born a noble but at the death of his parents he sold all of his possessions to give to the poor. Saint Giles then became hermit who, according to legend, was nourished by the milk from a hind sent from God. One day a deer jumped into the cave St. Giles was in and a hunter shot an arrow into the cave with hopes of hitting the deer but he actually hit St. Giles. St. Giles then began to become famous and eventually became abbot of a monastery founded at the cave. St. Giles feast day is September 1st.
