This year’s annual Día de los Muertos concert features guest pianist Gerardo Sánchez Lara from Yakima’s sister city of Morelia, Mexico, performing Mozart’s beautiful Concerto No. 23 in A major. The program also includes Ravel’s Baroque-tinged Le tombeau de Couperin and Louis Spohr’s Symphony No. 7 (“The Earthly and Divine in Human Life”), which takes advantage of the split stage area at the Seasons to present two separate orchestras representing ‘earthly’ and ‘divine’ forces.
