STAKEHOLDERS IN ANAMBRA EAST AND WEST FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY STAKES FOR CONTINUITY. It is a memorable day on Tuesday this week for Hon. Chief Ameke Chriscato Ikechukwu, member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency as the Stakeholders from the Constituency stormed the State office of All Progressive Grand Alliance at Agu Awka to purchase the Nomination form for Federal House of Representative general election. It is the first time in the history of the Constituency that a sitting Lawmaker will have the general endorsement of all stakeholders from the Constituency prior to an election. This is so because of the unparalleled achievements of Hon Ameke during his three and half years in office as a Lawmaker representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Assembly. In the words of the leader of the delegation, Chief Mercel Anosike,Today is a memorable day in the history of the constituency because this is the first time the Communities that comprises of Anambra East and West Federal Constituency contributed money to purchase a nomination Form for an office holder and openly prevailed on him to seek reelection as they are fully behind him.This action is because of the dedication zeal and above all commitment exhibited by Hon. Ameke in giving pure and quality representation to the Constituency. Another Stakeholder in the entourage, Chief. Jerome Nnechie threw more light in the benevolence and humility of Hon. Ameke. He is a God sent to the people, a hoe to the down trodden and a messenger who has surpassed the mandate given to him in all ramifications. The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the bank draft to the State Chairman of APGA, Chief Mike Kwentoh who received the delegation. An insight into Hon. Amekes tenure at the Federal House of Representative that makes his people key behind him in his reelection bid is reflected below. Hon. Ameke sponsored the Bill to amend the NDDC act to include Anambra State as an oil Producing State. The Bill was read at the floor of the House on Tuesday 9th of October, 2012. Details will be found on the House Order Paper as Gazetted on September 26th, 2012 on BILL NO: 12.07.374. He moved a motion of urgent importance twice to draw the attention of the Federal Government on the plight of his Constituency in Aguleri/Kogi Crises. Hon. Ameke lobbied his colleague Committee on Works in the National Assembly to attract and allocate a whopping sum of N693,000,000 for continued construction of Otuocha – Umueze Anam - Kogi Road in 2012 Budget. Another 450 Million was attracted to the same road by Hon. Ameke. Any delay should be traced to the Contractor, Niger-cat Construction Company. He attracted the sum of N278 million in the budget for the rehabilitation of Adani, - Ayamelum - Otuocha - Onitsha Road. He Attracted about 30, 000,000 for the electrification of Umueze Anam to Nzam In 2012 budget. Hon. Ameke Attracted about 35 million for the building andrehabilitation of some selected. secondary schools within his constituency. Hon. Chricato Ameke attracted over N150M for the Solar Street Lighting in 23 wards out of the 25 wards representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency thus: Enugu Otu, Eziagulu otu, Nzam, Mmiata, Igboezmu Aguleri, Ivite Aguleri Enugu Aguleri, Nneyi, Umuleri, Nando, Amaeze, etc. All these have been awarded and completed. Twenty Million Naira was attracted by him for the construction of market stalls in Aguleri, Umueri, Nando and Umueze Anam. He built an ultra modern 1,000 sitting capacity Civic Center for the good people of Aguleri.He also built two Class room blocks. One in Eri Primary School, Agulerand Justice Chiwnuba Memorial Secondary School, Aguleri. He Installed two 300KVA Electricity Transformers at Odene EnugwuAguleri Road and at Okukuizu in Ivite Aguleri. During the catastrophic flood in 2012 that devastated the entire Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, the indefatigable Representative as soon as he heard it, moved into action with donation of four Engine boats each with 100 capacity and commence evacuation of his people from Enugu Otu, Eziagulu Otu, Mkpunando, and various communities in Anambra West. He was able to pressured the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA to visit the flood victims. He also donated relief materials such as blankets, foodstuffs and also made cash donation to the victims. In the recent crises between Anambra, Enugu and Kogi States on the issue of oil well location, he was able to meet both members of both states and discuss with them on the originality of the oil well and otherwise that the Oil Well, Anambra River I, II and III is actually sited in Aguleri soil and that Aguleri is the host community. He has taken his campaign to the media houses and has severally defended it both in writing and at several interviews. It was because of his political maturity in handling this matter that made some of the other state members in the National Assembly to start rescinding their earlier osition. Currently Hon. Ameke is paying over 58 persons in his Constituency empowerment program. Over 10 stakeholders has benefited in his Car gift program. He has assisted over twelve members of his constituency in securing federal job appointments since he was sworn in. Feasibility Studies with complete design of two Irrigation Projects for Enugwu Otu Aguleri in Anambra East and Umueze Anam inAnambra West. This will shift our farmers from peasant to Commercial farmers farming all seasons. The stake holders hereby enjoin all lovers of democracy in Anambra East and West to join in the CONTINUITY PROJECT.
