STAND NOT (2). PSALM 1. Wise people spend time to meditate on Gods word with a view to gaining wisdom necessary for success in their endeavour,but the foolish despise the word of God to their peril.The Psalmist realised the danger posed by those whose counsel is not godly but based on selfish interest.Many leaders are led astray by corrupt men and women who urges them on,even when they have already derailed.The position we take on issues matters a lot because it can bring about progress or retrogression.The fact is that every child of God must take a scripture based stand on issues and should always be very clear about the position of the word of God on any matter. St.Paul advises: Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common?Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? At our various council meetings,Synods,Archdiocesan Council and Conferences,do we seek guidance from the word of God as regard decision making? Whatever our stand,we must realise that our position affects many voiceless people who are looking up to us for solution to myriads of problems.Those whose stand cannot be defined are dangerous to any society.Jesus Himself promised to spew out those who are neither here nor there.This passage emphasises the relevance of Gods word as a guide in all we do.It warns every christians to study the word and apply it so that we can live a life of justice,equity,holiness,integrity and righteousness. Those who stand on the way of sinners masquerading as agent of light will spell doom for the church and our nation. We should devote our time for Bible study and Sunday school where we are taught the way of the Lord for by it we will grow to serve God and Humanity gloriously. In our families,we should teach our children the relevance of Gods word and ensure they grow by it.Our consistent study and meditation on the word morning and evening will eventually rob off on our children as they are growing. Memory Verse:Psalm 119:11. Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Prayer:Father grant me the grace to constantly stand for Scriptural standard and not the way of sinners in Jesus name.Amen.
