STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL was aired on channel 7 December 1978. George Lucas was on set and well into the production of Empire Strikes Back. And allowed another director to have artistic control over its production. It was the a First for STAR WARS fans in a few ways. #1 it was the VERY FIRST look at a Character named BOBA FETT in the middle of the show as a Cartoon t hat introduced fans to the Bounty Hunter. #2 We found out that Chewbacca was Married and Had a Kid. Both his wife and child were in it. # 3 we found out that the Band Jefferson Star ship had some kind of strange connection to Star Wars. I havent quite figured that part out yet after all these years. #4 we found out that in the Star Wars universe Wookies have holidays. Most notably LIFE DAY which is their equivalent to Christmas and New Years rolled up into one. #5 we found out that Bea Arthur was a Mos Eisley Creature cantina bar maid. Ha! Why? I dont know either.
