STARS ALIGN FOR THE 2ND ANNUAL SCARBOROUGH FILM FESTIVAL Toronto, May 27th. A roster of international talent set to make an appearance and present their work next week at the Scarborough Film Festival. Running from June 3rd to 8th the 2014 festival is bringing over 35 films from over 20 countries, along with the filmmakers, to showcase across Scarborough and East York. The red carpet will roll out for Toronto’s own, Richie Mehta and his latest work starring Gillian Anderson, Haley Joel Osment, Rufus Sewell and Victor Garbel of “I’ll Follow You Down”. This exciting science fiction film was shot entirely in Toronto. The Opening Night gala on June 3rd will welcome the director Lex Sidon of “Grand Street”, which stars Charlotte Riley and Tom Byam Shaw, and where Scarborough native Michal Wincott makes a fantastic appearance. Other guests include a Gemini nominated Ted Atherton, who brings his directorial debut film “The Last Round”, a Scarborough native actor, Mark Taylor, of “MediDating”, director Jayan Cherian with his award winning feature film “Papilio Buddha”. Scarborough Film Festival’s Executive Director Sergei Petrov stated: - “This is an unprecedented and a delightful achievement of the Festival to bring such positive attention and acclaim to the area of Scarborough, that all of us out there love and hold dear. The festival exists because of our mutual understanding and belief that through film we can change the world around us, one frame at a time. With over 150 different cultural groups in Scarborough, is there any better place to begin? The world lives here!” The Festival audience can not only expect to see special guests and directors introducing and discussing their work, but also enjoy a stellar lineup of internationally recognized films holding their North American and Canadian Premieres here at the festival. Discovering new talents and visions, Scarborough Film Festival will present multiple films screening for the very first time to the general public. Scarborough Film Festival will run June 3rd to 8th at the University of Toronto Scarborough, The Fox Theatre, Woodside Cinema, and the Cedar Ridge Creative Centre. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or onsite at the venues on the day of the screening, throughout the Festival.
