STATEMENT FROM THE AUCC SRC We salute every student of AUCC. In the few days ahead, our service to students of our Great University will come to an end. We thank you for the opportunity you gave us to serve you. It has been very challenging but Ebeneezer – this is how far the Lord has brought us. The bible says in Psalm 30: 11 -12, “you have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness, that my soul may sing praise to you and not be silent O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever…” this in short is our praise to our heavenly God whose Grace has always girded our loins and did not confound us to the plethora of snares set before us, but shown us the escape. There were traps to depose us and malicious attempt to whitewash what we have achieved together as Executives and students but God’s Grace has been made manifest and his shining cannot be overshadowed. We may not have achieved everything in our manifestos but you cannot overrule the fact that significant strives have been made since we took over the reins of the SRC. As our tenure of office comes to an end and all prepared to hand over the mantle of leadership to a new batch of executives, we want to share with you the harvest of our service. 1. We reviewed the constitution to ensure that the structures within Having said that, we want to congratulate our newly elected SRC executives for the overwhelming endorsement they have received from the students. They must at all times acknowledge that this is an honor the students have conferred on them by vesting in them the supreme authority to lead them. The least they can do is to rest on their oars and dash their hopes. One thing is clear, the journey is not going to be easy but with the right attitude nothing can be a hold up to your success. The onus now lies on you to prove yourselves capable beyond damnation. Constructive criticisms are good. Welcome them and measure yourselves up with them for effective delivery of your promises to students. To those who lost their bid to serve, congratulations for being thoughtful about the general good of AUCC. We salute your bravery. You can help on the sidelines by being constructive and supportive. We thank all the students for being highly decorous and sentimentally sublime during the elections and ultimately respecting the verdict of the Electoral Commission. We thank the Electoral Commission for conducting a free, fair and transparent elections and most importantly allowing the will of the students to prevail against the incessant suspicion of sinister or foul play in the just ended elections. Let us move the SRC a notch higher again bearing in mind that leadership is positive continuity and no matter how we give of our best, there will still be holes to patch by successive regimes should the SRC exists. Take it or leave it, as our population is increasing and our demands are growing and so are our expectations. Rome they say was not built in a day, so no matter what, you can’t achieve everything in your tenure but strive for excellence in the little things you do. To all our true friends, you have been our inspiration. Apart from the executives, the success of our administration is partly got to do with the wise counsel of true friends. God bless you exceedingly and abundantly Find a place in your hearts to forgive us if we directly or indirectly abraded your emotions. We are all fallible but truth is nothing is more soothing to the soul than the hearts that forgives. It is our prayer that the ensuing years will bring us peace and prosperity. May destiny find all of us together again as we work for the betterment of AUCC and mother Ghana. THANK YOU. SIGNED ERNEST LARTEY. SRC PRESIDENT
