STATIONS OF THE CROSS It is said that Saint Teresa of the Child - TopicsExpress

STATIONS OF THE CROSS It is said that Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus (of Lisieux) achieved the level of sainthood by meditating daily on the Stations of the Cross. It is also said that Saint Padre Pio, while going to bed, was wrapping a Rosary on his wrist and was placing a Crucifix on his chest. It is documented that Blessed Charlene-Marie Richard, the little cajun saint, while dying in pain in a hospital of Lafayette, Louisiana, kept on praying for others. I am not yet at the article of death, so I cannot yet imitate Bl. Charlene-Marie. As for the rest, I do to the best I can in order to reach the level of sainthood. I admit to have a long way to go, since I am an abject sinner, but heaven is my choice, more so since receiving the grace of a vision of Blessed Charlene-Marie (please see posting THE INTERCESSION OF A SAINT, dated November 13, 2013). The young virgin is, without a doubt, among the variety surrounding the Queen of Heaven and Earth. So there it is! I want to go to heaven, and I therefore imitated those who are already there, having my hopes that the Judge will remember the story of the Prodigal Son. I imitate the patron Saints! Monkey-see, monkey-do! Wait a minute! There are thoughts in my devotions. For example I have customized my own way to meditate on the Stations of the Cross, which customization I wish to share with you. My way of meditating is politically incorrect, which I can tell by the suspicious look of the few old women who usually kneel in the deserted churches and cathedrals. Yes! my way of the Station of the Cross must be politically incorrect! This past summer while in Paris, in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, amid a large crowd of tourists and gawker, I got dirty looks, but nevertheless, the security -for there is a security service nowaday, did not dare interrupt my devotion of the Station of the Cross, which proves that may be Our Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary must like it, and has taken me under her protection. STATION OF THE CROSS (customized by Denis) !. Jesus Christ Our Lord, the Son of God, the heir of all things is condemned to death by His creatures. !!. Jesus Christ Our Lord is given His Cross to carry. He has to carry this heavy Cross on His shoulders lacerated by the flagellation. Those shoulder wounds are the most painful, according to the revelations made to St. Bernard. (I add to the other prayers St Bernard, pray for us Note. St Bernard could not have been physically present, but he became spiritually a witness to the suffering of Christ Jesus, and therefore his intercession is helpful to meditate upon what Our Lord suffered ) III. Jesus Christ Our Lord falls for the first time. He will fall three times, which falls might represent the three falls of Holy Church throughout the history of the world. (I add St. Peter, you who fell three times in reneging the Lord three times, and who bravely stood-up to lead the Church towards posterity, pray for us) IV. Jesus Christ Our Lord meets the Blessed Virgin Mary. Between them is the regard of love of a mother towards her son, and of a son towards his mother. Mary, in the middle of this hateful and mocking crowd, remains the sole reason for Christ to continue His Passion. V. An individual named Simon of Cyrene is recruited to assist the Lord to carry His Cross. This is a gesture of loveless compassion, because it is feared that Jesus Christ Our Lord might die before being crucified. VI. Pushed by true compassion Saint Veronica wipes the adorable face of Our Lord with her veil. To this gesture of true love, by His divine recognition, Jesus Christ Our Lord leaves on the veil the imprint of His holy countenance. (I add Saint Veronica, pray for us that we may love Our Lord as much as you did, in order to also see Him) VII. Jesus Christ Our Lord falls for the second time. This second fall could represent the second fall of the Church, this atrocious eclipse of the Catholic Church which is killing us presently. (I add St. Peter, pray for us) VIII. Jesus Christ Our Lord addresses the women of Jerusalem. Those are the women whose husband have a-cursed themselves by shouting to the Governor Poncius Pilate His blood be upon us and upon our children. Now Jesus Christ Our Lord, the Son of God, united with the Father through the Holy Ghost; the Incarnate Word; the Truth; God, acknowledge this a-cursing of the Jewish people by saying Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me but weep for you and for your children. IX. Jesus Christ Our Lord falls for the third time. This third fall might represent the future fall of the Church which should occur a thousand years from now. (I add St Peter, pray for us) X. Upon arrival at Mount Calvary, Jesus Christ Our Lord is unburdened from the Cross, and is stripped of His clothing. His coat is removed in one piece, and his tunic is ripped. The skin that sticks to His tunic is also ripped, and He is so presented to the world: lamentable! his flesh in shred to the point that His bone may be counted, and simply dressed with the infamous Crown of Thorns. What a scandal! what a shame to have treated the Savior this way! A woman named Jonadab tosses Him a piece of linen in an attempt to hide this shame; the shame of God! Our shame! Our shame! (I add All the holy disciples who witnessed the stripping of Our Lord, pray for us Note. This request bring their intercession for me to visualize better the horror of the scene) XI. Jesus Christ Our Lord, the Son of God, the heir of all things, is nailed to the Cross. The palm of His two hands and His feet are trans-pierced, and so fastened on this crude instrument of torture; on this bed of sorrow, He offers Himself in sacrifice. (I add All the holy disciples witnessed of the nailing of Our Lord, pray for us, again in order to obtain help from heaven to better visualize the horror) XII. Jesus Christ Our Lord, crucified, expires after three hours of agony. During this atrocious agony, where He finds no rest, while He is abandoned by the Father; that He suffocates, and that His precious Blood drips upon the ground, He pronounces Seven Words which will seal the judgement of Satan, and purchase the souls of many. (I add All the holy disciples present at the Cross, pray for us. Note. The devotion of the Seven Last Word of Our Lord on the Cross is my next devotion, prior to the Station of the Cross, I pray the Seven Sorrows of Mary) XIII. After His death, Our Lord is descended from the Cross. Two disciples named St. Joseph of Arimathea, and Nicodemus, with pliers, remove the nails, and with drapes, place His precious body in the arms of His mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, who is now our own mother. In this scene of the Pieta, Mary contemplates her divine Son who has been murdered by her other sons, as Abel was murdered by Cain. To the eyes of the world, it is evident that Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews is dead. (I add all the holy disciples witness of the descent of the Cross, pray for us) XIV. Our Lord is put in the tomb. After having rolled a heavy stone upon the entrance, the disciples disperse. It is evident to them, that the Christ is dead., but Mary, who is the New Eve, continue to pray for all her children.
