STEALING THE WORD By Joshua Ghansah Luke 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. In the parable of the sower, Jesus spoke about a group who allow the Word to be stolen from their hearts. The thief is the Devil (John 10:10). The question is, how can we retain the Word? How do we prevent the Devil from taking or stealing the Word from us? The scriptures give us a clue: Psalm 119:11 Thy word HAVE I HID in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. The answer to this is to learn the art of HIDING the Word! David learnt how to hide the Word, and since the Devil could not steal the Word any longer, David could then stay away from sin and bear fruit from the seed of the Word in all holiness before God. How did he hide the Word? Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he MEDITATE day and night. Psalm 63:6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and MEDITATE on thee in the night watches. MEDITATION was his secret! Meditation takes the word from your sensual realm of your ears and mind (when you hear the Word) and deposits it deep within your heart, far from the reach of the Devil who wants to steal it! To meditate means to think on, to ponder over, ask questions and expect answers to drop into your spirit by the Holy Ghost, repeat that Word to the hearing of your Spirit man over and over and over again. If anyone asks you what you are doing, shout this to the person: I AM HIDING THE WORD!!!! LET US LEARN TO HIDE THE WORD FROM THE THIEF!
