STEELPAN TO THE WORLD A GIFT FROM TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO. I must say that I had a fantastic experience with one of my classes as we performed at the prestigious Massey Hall in Toronto. Steelpan continues to grow at a healthy pace in the Greater Toronto Area. As I reflect on the past 20 years teaching steelpan, there are over 60 schools that have their own steelpans, and classes are taught as part of the school curriculum. Does time ever fly! My 10 year old daughter Moriah did the first solo during this performance. This was an extra special moment for me. The song we played is called Mambo Caliente, and it came off an inspiration from a Duvone Stewart arrangement. On drums we had the amazing Larnell Lewis. Thank you both!
