Here are the details; A 1200lb steer is $1.70 a lbs on the hoof, or approx. 2000 for him to purchase. He charges $150 to slaughter and 92c a lb for butchering on the hanging weight The cost will be roughly $2900-3000 for 400 - 460lbs finished and packed beef, roughly 6.86 per lb on average. If 4 people split thats 100-115lbs each for roughly $725pp. If anyone is interest in this scenario, I would be interested to go in with 3 other people. IF anyone in the group we put together likes organ meat, this was not included in the estimates, so, liver, tongue etc, would be additional weight added someone could factor in (cost for steer does not increase but cost to butcher those parts out at 92c a lb would be added). I personally do not eat the uncommon bits
