STEP FORWARD: SENOR GENERAL MEETS PEACE GROUPS ------------------------------------------ Commander-in-chief of the defence services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met the national races armed groups who attended the 67th anniversary independence day grand military review at the Bayint Naung Avenue in Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday afternoon. At the meeting, the Senior General said that the union of Myanmar has been in existence since yore, and efforts have been made for its perpetuity. For various reasons, Myanmar was colonized and regained independence in 1948 and all the national races are needed to be endowed with the spirit to strive for non-disintegration of the union. He added that since all the national races are enjoying equal rights, all need to live in amity by avoiding the facts that can harm each other. He pledged that the Tatmadaw is cooperating for the country to firmly marching on the multi-party democracy track and will strive for winning peace. He called them for keep engaging in constructive tasks for the betterment of the country based on the common goal to build the nation, under the leadership of the president. He also stressed the need to avoid instigations that can hamper peace. In conclusion, he also explained that, during peace process, there is no military attacks nor combating the recognized camps. Then, the national races armed groups openly discussed matters on ceasefire, peace plans and regional development. The meeting was attended by KNU, KNU/KNLA(PC), DKBA, UWSA, NDAA, NMSP, ALP, SSPP/SSA, RCSS/ SSA, NSCN(K), ABSDF and PNLO groups.
