STEVE SNOWCAST: Nope, not over yet!!! (what is it they say about a singing fat lady?) Folks in Roanoke finding out this one isnt quite finished yet! And anything falling there may yet spread eastward toward Lynchburg! Never call a storm a bust until the last cloud has officially past by. (Although, by about 4 oclock, Ol STEVE was looking for a hidey hole). And it turns out this storm is the perfect example. Theres even a little more snow still in West Virginia that could manage its way this direction. But, to be fair, this is not quite the storm everyone was hoping for. But 2 inches (still within STEVEs prediciton) is still possible for a lot of folks. And frankly, Its not the snow thats going to be the biggest problem overnight! Despite large accumulations for many, it has been precipitating something most of the day. And none of that something has had a chance to dry out. (And some of the somethings are now getting covered in snow!) And the final ingredient is temps that could fall to the single digits overnight! Even STEVE is smart enough to know WET + COLD = ICE. Yep, regardless of what snow you may see... your back yard, walkways, bridges, roads, and Tommy will all be icy in the morning. I very much expect many schools will make changes. (in fact, many have... Well post a link in a moment) And it doesnt get warmer from here! Temps low 20s tomorrow, mid 20s the rest of the week. We wont see the high side of freezing until Saturday! Be very careful in the morning! Could be very slick!!!!
