STOKE CITYS first team squad touched down in Texas in the early hours of Tuesday morning . . . as they kicked off their nine day pre-season tour of the United States. Mark Hughes and his players arrived at their base in Houston shortly after 2am on Tuesday morning (8pm local time), following a 10 and a half hour flight from London Heathrow. The Potters will now spend three nights in Houston, before departing for Dallas on Thursday morning, just 24 hours after their opening friendly of the tour against MLS side Houston Dynamo. A second game is pencilled in against FC Dallas on Saturday evening, whilst the side round off the trip with an encounter against Eastern Conference high-fliers Philadelphia Union next Tuesday. The players will undertake their first training session on Tuesday morning in temperatures which could surpass the 100 degree mark, before Mark Hughes speaks to the local journalists at the pre-match press conference at Dynamos impressive BBVA Compass Stadium. The squad will then be put through their paces in an open training session at the same venue, before taking part in a meet and greet with Dynamo season ticket holders, and of course, Stoke City fans who have made the long journey out to Texas.
