STRAT usually printed up nifty shop materials for his Charisma - TopicsExpress

STRAT usually printed up nifty shop materials for his Charisma stable from the outset, which was not the norm in 69/70 (he mustve had a reasonable budget from distributors B&C). Believe this was promoting VDGGs PAWN HEARTS - late 1971 (with an artwork commission to PAUL WHITEHEAD specifically for this poster). Ive seen one other Van Der Graaf Charisma promo poster from this era; its a band shot with the H TO HE font, so, I suppose promoting that album. Theres a swell illustrated poster for the first Audience album Ive seen (RARE BIRD as well, but its a straight repro of the first album artwork). GENESIS had cool shop materials from the very beginning at Charisma: a dedicated TRESPASS poster (with PHIL COLLINS pictured!), then two NURSERY CRYME-era shop posters more promoting all band product than that album specifically; oddly enough *nothing* for FOXTROT (which was their UK breakthrough); for SEBTP, in the UK, US and Holland, a shop poster was printed again promoting more the entire band catalog than a specific album. From THE LAMB forward, Genesis would always have dedicated posters in both the UK and the US...all the Genesis posters I reference can be found pictured at the excellent Genesismuseum.
