STUDENTS SALTUTE NDC MAN From David Zamana-Bunkpurugu The NDC Candidate of the Bunkpurugu Constituency of the Northern region, Hon Bonchel Abulai Duut has accomplished his promise. Hon Duut Abulai became the candidate of the NDC in the Bunkpurugu constituency in 2012 friendly battle of his party. Mr. Duut emerged winner to lead the NDC in 2012 after he was keenly contested by , Hon Anthony Gingong , whose currently at NHIS Head Office in Accra as one of the Directors , Hon Dr Benson Konlan , Senior Lecturar and Head of Department at UDS Medical School Tamale , as well the current Presiding Member of the Bunkpurugu/yunyoo District. Hon Kwame Duut the immediate past MP before the 2012 general election, Hon Isaac Gbaruk and five(5) contestants. Hon Duut Abulai, after emerging the wining led the NDC into campaign to several places within the district including schools and churches. Mr. Duut made promises to some of this institutions should they help him to become the next Member of Parliament for the Bunkpurugu constituency. The 2012 elections went quite tooth for Hon Duut as he finally lost to a very close gab with Hon Solomon from the NPP after the count of votes at EC collation centre in Bunkpurugu. Hon Duut Abulai, after his loss still participated in party activities. Reports indicate that, he has several times come back to town to partake in party programs. The most recent activity Hon Duut carried out is the presentation of computers to all the three Senior High Schools in the Bunkpurugu /Yunyoo District. Hon Duut Abulai in an interview with the this medium on his recent move, this is what he said, I quote, I take this opportunity to thank the good people of Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District especially the Bunkpurugu constituency for the support you gave me during the 2012 battle right from internal to external. I must say that, I made several promises to schools , homes , churches and some individuals during my campaign to become the MP for Bunkpurugu Constituency .Even though God did not give me the chance , but I feel I should be able to address some of my promises and that’s how come I am embarking on this activity. I have presented computers to Bunkpurugu Senior High School, Nakpanduri Senior High School, and Presby Senior High School at Nakpanduri, District Police Commanders Office, Bunkpurugu Chief Palace and Nakpanduri Chief Palace. Mr. Duut added that, there are still other schools and offices which he would donate same computers to them at the appropriate time when I have the resources. According to him, this move is to prove his loyalties to his people and to fulfill his 2012 campaign promise. This medium revealed that, the move by Hon Duut to donate computers to these institutions were geared towards a political score against 2016 candidature of the NDC seat in Bunkpurugu , and also on the bases of the seat of the District Chief Executive position , Hon Duut in response denied the allegation and noted clearly that, God is the one who decides on who leads who and for that matter rumors can always go to any high esteem but ,when God does not endorse, it makes no meaning. I feel strongly that, I have something very good to shear with my people if am representing them in parliament and therefore when God speaks we would get there and feel what It is . Hon Duut added. These donations happen last week when Hon Duut Abulai visited his constituency in Bunkpurugu.
