SUB : UK HELP IN OPERATION BLUESTAR - AMYTH . Unnecesarily UK help in Operation Bluestar is blown out of proportions . In fact UK Govt is not like US Govt which can guarantee any tactical support to countries like India . We are over estimating UKs power. The then Indian Govt was too much worried of SIKH sensitivities and therefore , it needed precise inside information of Golden Temple so as to cause limited damage and do precise operation . Must remember , entry into the temple was very restricted and risky for any intelligence operative . You may recall that DIG Jalandhar range Mr Chhatwal was killed in broad daylight when he went for prayers inside. Basically ,the then Indian Govt had two reasons to seek limited UK help . 1. There are many Punjabi citizens of UK who could be sent by the UK PM to gather useful inside information and pass on to Indian PM without being noticed or detected by the Bhindrawala . 2. As anybody is aware , Indians have special respect for white skinned Britishers though we call them bad names daily . These white British had free entry , movement & interaction inside Golden temple up to the remotest of corners . British intelligence agency MI5 could easily push in their white British agents to gather intelligence and pass on to India PM . These are the two reasons why British help may have been sought and obtained . This help was only for political decision making and had nothing to do with Army operation which had its own intelligence network to execute operation .
